Western Red Cedar Cladding

Western Red Cedar cladding is a naturally durable softwood widely used for exterior timber cladding. Selected for its warm colour variation and lightweight nature, it creates natural timber façades with a softer, less uniform appearance.

Timber Cladding

Western Red Cedar is a naturally durable softwood widely used for exterior cladding. Its relatively low density makes the boards lightweight and easy to handle, while the timber’s natural extractives help resist moisture and decay.

Western Red Cedar displays natural colour variation ranging from lighter honey tones through to deeper browns. Left untreated, it gradually weathers to a silver-grey finish over time.

Availability & Alternatives

Corell supplies Western Red Cedar cladding in a standard 92 × 17 tongue and groove profile, commonly used for merchant supply and general cladding applications. Bespoke profiles are also available in ex 1×4 and ex 1×6 sections.

Western Red Cedar remains a popular choice for residential and commercial cladding where a lightweight, naturally durable timber is preferred.

Where greater dimensional stability, longer lengths or a wider range of textures and factory finishes are required, Avara™ Clear and Avara™ Character provide an alternative based on thermally modified timber.
